Forest Coverage
According to the State of Forest Report 2003, by Forest Survey of India Dehradun, the forest cover of Manipur is 17,219 Sq. kms. which is 77.12 % of the total geographical area of the State.
Out of the total forest area under Reserved Forests is 1467 sq. km. i.e. 8.6% of the total forest area. An area of 4171 sq.km. or 24.64 % of the total forests area recorded as Protected Forests and the rest belong to other categories of forests.  The following table shows the latest district-wise forest cover in Manipur
