Southern Forest Circle:

This circle comprises of the forest division of Churachandpur and Bishnupur. The districts it cover are Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts. The circles has a mix of valley and hill topography with the Bishnupur division forming he valley and Churachandpur division forming the hill.

The Conservator of Forests, Southern Circle is the head of this Circle. The circle office is situated in the Forest Head Office, Sanjenthong.

The circle has its boundaries with the state of Mizoram and Assam. The circle is rich in biodiversity owing to the varied topography and climatic conditions. Many wetlands in the circle gives it ample opportunities for the eco-tourism activities. Timber operations are restricted to the Churachandpur division which is also rich in NTFPs.

The famous Keibul Lamjao National Park was carved out from this circle.
