Deals with the examination and recommendation of proposal submitted for diversion of forest land for non forest purposes as under the Section 2 of the Forest Conservation Act.

Chief Conservator of Forests (FCA) is the nodal officer for the state for all proposals pertaining to the Forest Conservation Act. He reports the matters pertaining to the FCA to the MoEFCC, Regional Office, Shillong.

The money credited to the Compensatory Afforestation funds Management and Planning Authority for the area of forest land diverted is utilized for the development of forests in the states through releases from the Adhoc CAMPA account on submission of the approved Annual Plan of Operations to the Adhoc CAMPA.

For all matters pertaining to the activities under the State CAMPA, the Chief Conservator of Forests (FCA) is the nodal officer for the state.
